Serving Widows & Destitute Mata's of the Mahila Ashraya Sadan

Mahila Ashraya Sadan is a Home where Sir had taken us during the Walk and also the place where, by his blessings floral project is running. There are 350 maatas. Since the lockdown has lead to challenges across the world, it is no different for the Maatas. Realised that food and ration was supplied to them but the ashram which used to provide tea in the evening stopped after the lockdown got announced.

Hence from 2nd April onwards we started serving tea and biscuits, twice a day morning (8am) and evening (3pm). We will continue to serve them during the lockdown period and God's willing even beyond.

During the first & second phase of lockdown, we have distributed:

  • 21700 cups of tea
  • 7500 packets of biscuit
  • 7500 pieces of rusk

We are continuing with the distribution in phase three during the lockdown period and God willing even beyond.

DISTRIBUTION OF HOME MADE MASK

During this pandemic period wherein we are facing challenges in terms of health and finance, we have started making and distributing homemade masks as it helps preventing us from Covid-19. These have been made by women of rural areas in and around Mathura/Vrindavan. We have also involved 6 Self-Help Women Groups (SHG). We will pay them making charges by transferring the amount directly to their bank accounts so that we can provide them monetary support during this tough time.

We have started this by imparting them training and defining specifications to each SHG group.

We have distributed around 9000 masks till date to hawkers, rickshaw pullers, policemen and women manning posts at different locations of city. Everyday we will be distributing around 800-1000 masks in different markets and areas of Mathura and Vrindavan.

In the next phase by God willing we intend to make 3000 masks and distribute them in nearby villages.
